Grab yourself a Chrome OS laptop on the cheap with one of these delightful deals

Black Friday might have finished now but there's still Cyber Monday to go and many of season's best deals are still running, so it’s the perfect time to upgrade your setup with a new Chromebook. Simple to use, lightweight, and generally cheaper than a standard laptop, a great Chromebook is a smart investment for students, kids, casual browsers and anyone else who doesn’t need the power of a conventional laptop.

If you’ve been put off purchasing one in the past by the daunting prospect of separating the good deals from the bad, then don’t fret. We’ve done the hard work and collected a few of our favourite Chromebook deals in a handy list below.

There’s something to please everyone, including big screens, excellent battery life and a 2-in-1 machine that can double up as a tablet thanks to reversible 360-degree hinges.

If you're not too worried about sticking to a budget and simply want the best Chromebook money can buy, you'll want to check out our roundup of the best Chromebooks, while our list of the best laptop deals has you covered if you're hungry for some Windows or MacOS-based savings.

One thing to note before you get going, though. If you spot a tempting deal on a Chromebook that's seemingly too good to be true, make sure you check it against Google's Auto Update Expiry list to see when it will stop getting automatic updates for features and security. Older models might well not have much shelf life left, so it's worth balancing that against the price before buying.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Chromebook deals 2022:

1. Lenovo IdeaPad 5i (was £523 on average, now £380)

This 14in Lenovo Chromebook packs in plenty of power for the money with an 11th gen Intel Core i5 CPU under the hood, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD for storage. With a £143 price reduction, you're getting a powerful laptop for not much money.

1. Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go (was £399, now £289)

We didn't rate Samsung's Windows Galaxy Book Go but the Chromebook version is a better bet, especially at this Black Friday discount price. It comes with an Intel Celeron N4500 CPU, 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for a reduced price of £289.

2. Lenovo Yoga C630 (was £495 on average, now £330)

This Chromebook has an amazing hardware configuration for £350: a 4K touchscreen, a 360-degree hinge, an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD for storage. The only catch is that the CPU is an 8th generation model, so the C630 is only set to get security and new-feature updates for another two years.

3. Asus Touchscreen Chromebook Flip C433TA (was £429, now £330)

Chromebooks have become more mainstream in recent times and this Asus is a great example. It’s an attractive 2-in-1 with a 360-degree hinge and a 14in Full HD touchscreen, and it comes with a decent specification for the money, too: an Intel Core i5-8200Y CPU, a healthy 8GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage.

4. Asus Flip CM3200FM (was £349, now £229)

This one might not be a powerhouse, but for the price of £229 it certainly is a bargain of a 2-in-1 laptop. You still get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on a 12in device with 16 hours of battery life – that’s certainly a handy laptop for the money.

5. HP Chromebook 14 (was £290, now £250)

It won’t be the biggest saving to be had during Black Friday, but you can still take home this HP Chromebook for £250, £40 below the RRP. For your money, you’ll get an AMD Athlon Silver processor, a 14in Full HD display, 4GB RAM and 64GB eMMC storage.

6. Acer Chromebook 315 (avg £350, now £300)

This Acer Chromebook boasts a big 15.6in display, 4GB of RAM and impressive battery life. Right now you can grab one for £300, significantly below the average Amazon price of £350.

7. Asus Chromebook C204MA (was £150, now £120)

Laptops costing less than £150 are as rare as hens’ teeth for a reason: they’re not usually all that attractive, easy to use or powerful. This Asus Chromebook is just such a machine but it’s a practical option as a first laptop for a child, especially at this reduced price.

8. HP Chromebook x360 14b-cb0002na (was £400, now £330)

At its RRP of £400, we'd say this 2-in-1 Chromebook was a tad overpriced, especially with its mere 64GB of eMMC storage, meagre 4GB of RAM and drab 205cd/m2 max display brightness. However, at the reduced price of £330 it's worth a second look, if only for its 360-degree hinge and touchscreen.
